I joined this site close to 4 years ago. After the incredible amount of vitriol and pure hatred spewed out by the left here on this site, I walked away. I came back a couple of months ago with the intent on seeding stories that interested me, commenting on seeds that interested me, and refusing to get into the typical back-biting and COH violations that have, time and again, been allowed to occur. I read of suspensions, bannings....and when I read the articles that supposedly incited the need for such drastic behavior, I see authors trying to defend themselves against personal attacks. Are personal attacks no longer a COH violation?

This used to be a fun place, but the election cycle of 2008 proved withing the 'Vine microcosm just how divided this nation has become. No one is allowed to have a differing viewpoint from the current Administration. No one is allowed to speak out against dearly loved leftist ideology. No one is allowed to have a voice, however small it may be, without getting what I call "the treatment" from those on the left who seek to collapse comments, get entire seeds deleted, and engage in just-this-side of COH violations that apparently go without even a mere warning. 

Many on this site have become nothing but bullies, plain and simple. They feel that if they call enough names, browbeat hard enough, pile on deep enough, they can run off anyone who calls themselves a conservative. I thought liberals were supposed to be more caring, more empathetic, more embracing of everyone. 

I guess I was very, very wrong in thinking along those lines.

I have been called vile names. I have been called "ignorant", "red-neck", "tea bagger", and a host of other "cutesy" names that make the worst offenders and their pals here guffaw with supercilious pleasure. I have been told that "my kind should be killed off". I have had comments collapsed simply because I disagreed with a reply or the point of a seed. 

Was Newsvine never about civil debate? The tag "Get Smarter Here" surely doesn't mean a thing because most of the ignorance and plain inability to see facts - let alone argue from them without all kinds of hatred coming forth - come from the left. Yes, I will use a broad brush; I have yet to see anyone proclaiming their liberal mindset be polite to someone who differs in view from them. 

I ask purely rhetorical questions, of course, because I have had my fill of the "we're so superior" attitude, the comment that aren't snarky - they're just plain rude, and the numerous COH violations that seem to go unpunished. Here's a newsflash: Most of you show your narrow-mindedness, ignorance, lack of empathy, anger, rudeness, and plain stupidity with each post. You try to show all of us poor ole conservatives how great your intelligence is yet you continue to use flawed logic. When your flawed logic is pointed out, you resort to name-calling. How childish, immature, and ugly. 

The left isn't going to run me off of this site. Those who seek to directly attack me will be treated like I treat a child having a temper tantrum - they will simply be ignored. Oh, I know that will set off all kinds of other thinly veiled personal attacks - already had that happen to me - but they'll be snickering only among themselves. I won't be responding (if at all seeing) the nastiness they hold in their hearts. Seems to me that Obama was wrong when he spoke of bitter, angry people - seems he was looking in the mirror and seeing the entire ideology of the bitter, angry left staring back at him.

And no, you can't comment here. These are my thoughts and views and I'm not going to waste hours upon hours monitoring this post for the poison those on the left need to purge out onto my page. I take the COH literally, and I fear I'd wear out my mouse button by deleting the hatred and intolerance that I know will come when this is read. Go choke on your bile elsewhere, but not on my page.
